It’s disgraceful for America to have people in office who are blatantly racist and disrespectful. Douglas Bruce, the Representative from Colorado, said, while on the floor of Congress:

We don’t need 5,000 more illiterate peasants in the state of Colorado.

Immigrants and migrant workers receive way too much prejudice in America, and this is an example that such racism penetrates even the highest levels of our political system.
