When $374,000 is NOT VERY MUCH

MSNBC’s Martin Bashir reported today that Mitt, Inc. plans to release his tax returns soon (he took too much heat about it in last night’s GOP debate). We’ll now see if the reports of his net worth being around $250 million is accurate.

Romney says he hasn’t worked for 10 years, only receiving investment income in which he’s taxed around 15%. He appeared very uncomfortable with the 15% number; something tells me he paid much less by the time his accountants were through transferring large chunks of cash into off-shore accounts. This is the guy who said he wants better tax policies for people in the middle-class, like himself!

Romney went on to say the amount he made on speaking fees was “not very much“. He made roughly $42,000 per speech for a total of $374,000. This guy is simply out-of-touch with the lives of most Americans, and most of the time, out-of-touch with reality.
