When I’m wrong I’m wrong. Donald Trump did not endorse Newt Gingrich, he endorsed Mitt Romney, who told reporters at the Trump Las Vegas Hotel,
“Look, there are some things that you just can’t imagine happening in your life, this is one of them.”
Seriously?
Romney might want to hold off on celebrating the endorsement, though; according to the Washington Post,
“A January…poll found that nearly two-thirds of Republicans and GOP-leaning independents said a Trump endorsement would make no difference in their vote. Moreover, somewhat more said it would be more of a reason to oppose than to support a candidate (20 to 13 percent).”
Among all Americans, just 8 percent said they’d be more likely to vote for a Trump-endorsed candidate; more than three times as many said they’d be less likely to do so (26 percent).
