KS. Gov. Sam Brownback Is An F’ing A-hole

Print Friendly

Sorry for the edgy title.   Frankly if I weren’t such the prude I would spell it out so count your blessings!

You may wonder why level headed me, usually so calm and controlled of temper *snark*, would lambaste Gov. Brownback (Troll, Ks.) in such a heated manner.  It’s because Brownback has proven to be extremely sensitive to folks on the intertubes (it’s not a truck!) who express themselves in opposition to him.

The latest case is from his facebook page which was targeted with a “sarcasm bombing” .   Posters left scathing remarks, acting as though Brownback were some sort of expert on women’s health issues.   In response Brownback (or one of his toadies) decided to take down all the comments on his wall.

Some of those comments have been saved for posterity, and there is some real comedy gold.

“Hi Sam- I had sex with my wife and she didn’t get pregnant. I’m here to turn her in.”

“I just called your office, and they wouldn’t let me schedule a pap smear. I’m confused, aren’t you taking care of all this now?”

“Hey Governor Brownback, I was considering going on birth control because I’m fed up with being a teacher who has acne. Which one would you recommend for this?”

My wife changed her pad. You may resume regular activities. Thanks again for caring so much, Sam.”

(On a side note, Brownback promises to sign the bill even though he has never read it. Republicans have made a huge issue of folks voting on bills they have not read.   Kansas Republicans in particular have been burned by passing state legislation blindly.  But evidently, if someone tells Brownback the bill is anti woman, that’s all he needs to know.  But I digress!)

The wiping of Brownbacks wall is hardly the first time his office has proven thin skinned about criticism online.   Last November he had to apologize to Emma Sullivan, who found herself the target of Brownbacks ire after she tweeted something that his office found disrespectful to his lordship.   Sullivan’s high school principal gave her talking points from which to draw an apology, because she obviously is not able to express herself correctly without help from the grownup menfolk.  The entire situation went viral and it was the Governor who wound up apologizing.   I doubt anyone felt obliged to provide him talking points for the apology.

The reason Sullivan found herself on the wrong side of Brownback is that his office monitors social media for postings that contain the Governors name.   (Thus the inflammatory title of this post.)

So the takeaway on all this is that Governor Sam Brownback of Kansas is a hypocritical, thin skinned, anti woman bigot who doesn’t like to be called out on the internet.  With all that going for him maybe he should run for office in China.

This reminds me a lot about what happened in Virgina. After a lot of people were protesting the invasive anti-abortion bill, Bob McDickhead and all his Republican lackeys in the state senate claimed to not have read the bill in full and revised it. I can't believe a politician could make that claim and not feel the slightest bit of shame that they made such a stupid mistake… but it is believable when you consider what Republicans have become.
