Remember In November

From the Democratic National Committee:

“This week, the Senate voted overwhelmingly to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act. Here’s how the vote went: Sixty-eight in favor, thirty-one against.”

Each of the 31 senators who voted against it were Republican men.”

And we just happen to have a handy-dandy list of the 31:

  • Sen. John Barrasso [R, WY]
  • Sen. Roy Blunt [R, MO]
  • Sen. John Boozman [R, AR]
  • Sen. Richard Burr [R, NC]
  • Sen. Saxby Chambliss [R, GA]
  • Sen. Thomas Coburn [R, OK]
  • Sen. Thad Cochran [R, MS]
  • Sen. John Cornyn [R, TX]
  • Sen. Jim DeMint [R, SC]
  • Sen. Michael Enzi [R, WY]
  • Sen. Lindsey Graham [R, SC]
  • Sen. Charles Grassley [R, IA]
  • Sen. Orrin Hatch [R, UT]
  • Sen. James Inhofe [R, OK]
  • Sen. John Isakson [R, GA]
  • Sen. Mike Johanns [R, NE]
  • Sen. Ron Johnson [R, WI]
  • Sen. Jon Kyl [R, AZ]
  • Sen. Mike Lee [R, UT]
  • Sen. Richard Lugar [R, IN]
  • Sen. Mitch McConnell [R, KY]
  • Sen. Jerry Moran [R, KS]
  • Sen. Rand Paul [R, KY]  **
  • Sen. James Risch [R, ID]
  • Sen. Pat Roberts [R, KS]
  • Sen. Marco Rubio [R, FL]  **
  • Sen. Jefferson Sessions [R, AL]
  • Sen. Richard Shelby [R, AL]
  • Sen. John Thune [R, SD]  **
  • Sen. Patrick Toomey [R, PA]  **
  • Sen. Roger Wicker [R, MS]

According to McClatchyDC,

“A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention survey released last year found that 24 people per minute in the U.S. are victims of rape, physical violence or stalking by intimate partners. The bill provides funding to law enforcement, victims advocates and states to help reduce domestic violence and increase reporting of it.”

It now goes to the House of Representatives, which is working on its’ own version.

(** Name floated as possible V.P. candidate)

I still can't figure out if they genuinely don't care about women, or want them barefoot and pregnant, or believe their religious bull-shirt about women being subservient to men (how's that different from the Taliban?), or if these losers were constantly rejected by women at a younger age and now its payback time?
