Your Weekly Dose of Conservative Nonsense
Send Poor Nile Some Pictures of What Fun Looks Like, Maybe He Can Live Vicariously
Conservative political “commentator” Nile Gardiner has his panties in a wad; seems Hillary Clinton, in Colombia for the Summit of the Americas, was caught – brace yourselves – Dancing! Gasp!
Clinton stopped in at La Havana with a group of a dozen or so people, and stayed all of about 30 minutes and had a beer and a dance. This led Gardiner to complain that the “overwhelmingly liberal US media is treating the story as a bit of fun” – God Forbid – before he totally runs his train off the track with this bit:
“… I suspect that a lot of US taxpayers will see it differently – as a senior government official having a jolly time on an official overseas junket at taxpayers’ expense. And this was hardly a display of good judgment at a time when nearly 13 million Americans are unemployed, and US soldiers are laying their lives on the line every day in Afghanistan…”
blah, blah, blah… Nile buddy, pull that giant redwood out of your ass; I’ll send the government the $1.51 (average cost for a beer in Colombia) to cover the “taxpayers’ expense” of Hillary’s drink. As for the good judgement, 1.) get a life, and 2.) It’s not like they were blowing a couple of grand at “an erotic, bondage-themed West Hollywood club”. Oh wait… that was your “family values” crowd wasn’t it…oops.
Spin it any way you want Nile, Hillary’s brief nightclub stop is not an embarrassment, it’s refreshing, it’s human, and yes – very un-conservative.
The Latest Installment in the Ongoing Tale of Allen West’s Ignorance
Conservatives rarely feel the need to substantiate anything they say, and Allen West takes that mindset to a whole new level:
“Addressing a town-hall meeting Tuesday in Florida, the freshman lawmaker was asked how many members of the American legislature are “card-carrying Marxists.” West said “there’s about 78 to 81 members of the Democratic Party that are members of the Communist Party.” He did not provide names.”
Excuse me? Of course West was flanked by, Herman “the real black” Cain and Sarah the Grizzly Mama Palin, as he spoke, so off-the-wall was to be expected.
According to OfficialWire:
“The caucus, founded in 1991, includes 75 House members and one senator and describes its goals as economic fairness, civil rights, environmental protection, energy independence and global security.”
Yeah, real anti-American stuff that is. Evidently, the caucus is planning to respond, but why bother? The only people who take West seriously are those just like him, and stupidity doesn’t deserve to be acknowledged. Consider a few other priceless comments from West:
From The Daily Beast:
“In December, West came out with this outlandish statement: “If Joseph Goebbels was around, he’d be very proud of the Democrat party, because they have an incredible propaganda machine.” The National Jewish Democratic Council asked West to “apologize sincerely and immediately,” while the Anti-Defamation League wrote a letter to the congressman saying his “Holocaust analogies” are “offensive” and “trivialize real historical events.” West blamed reporters for twisting his words.”
“Responding to a perceived affront from [Debbie] Wasserman Schultz”:
“West called his colleague “vile, unprofessional, and despicable,”, before concluding, “You have proven repeatedly that you are not a Lady, therefore, shall not be afforded due respect from me!”
Poor Debbie, she won’t be afforded Allen West’s respect; I’m sure she cried for days. And there’s this:
“Speaking at a conservative women’s conference in April 2011, West lectured that liberal women “have been neutering American men and bringing us to the point of this incredible weakness.” He then called on conservative women “to let them know that we are not going to have our men become subservient.”
Not to worry Allen, even if your fears were true, they can’t neuter what you don’t have.
What’s In Store For Mitt
House Republicans are making it clear early on that Romney doesn’t have the respect of the Republican Party. According to The New York Times:
House Republicans said Mr. Romney could go his own way on smaller issues that may help define him as separate from his Congressional Republican counterparts. But, they said, he must understand that they are driving the policy agenda for the party now.
“We’re not a cheerleading squad,” said Representative Jeff Landry, an outspoken freshman from Louisiana. “We’re the conductor. We’re supposed to drive the train…
“We have led and will continue to lead,” Representative Lou Barletta of Pennsylvania said of House Republicans.
That’s a rather loose use of the term “lead”. They’re essentially saying they’re electing a figurehead; at least this time they’re up front about it. That means if we don’t get rid of them we can look forward to even more gridlock. And finally,
Taking Blaming the Victim to New Heights
“Brian Beckmann, a captain in the Miami-Dade fire department, posted a rant on his Facebook page suggesting that Trayvon Martin shooter George Zimmerman was unjustly accused and that Martin’s killing can be blamed upon poor parenting by “urban” parents who are “welfare dependent”
Note to Beckmann - Trayvon Martin was shot in a gated community, was unarmed except for Skittles and an iced tea, and his parents are not “welfare dependent”. Guess what else you ignorant, bigoted piece of garbage – even being on welfare doesn’t preclude your children from walking in public, or wearing a damn sweatshirt.
