GOP: From Grand Old Party to Greater Order of Psychopaths

You can kiss the “Grand Old Party” goodbye- they have officially become the Greater Order of Psychopaths; un-medicated, out of control, and dangerous, the lunatics are literally calling for the murder of Democratic politicians while their spineless leaders say nothing. According to St. LouisToday,

And don't forget uneducated.

“At an event Thursday in Springfield, Mo., Scott Boston, a St. Louis area activist who has been involved with the Tea Party, told the crowd “we have to get Claire McCaskill out.”

“We have to kill the Claire Bear ladies and gentlemen…really she’s an evil monster.”

The Tea Party Express hosted the event (No Surprise There) and is sponsoring Sarah Steelman, who issued a typical Republican response:

“I may disagree with the words Mr. Boston chose in his statement… “but I understand his frustration and I emphatically support his right to express his views.”

Steelman also blamed the “liberal media” of course, for having the nerve to quote her mentally deranged constituents.

July 11, 2010—Supporters of Tea Party candidate Joe Miller openly carry assault rifles and handguns during a community parade in Eagle River and Chugiak, Alaska, while young children march alongside them

In another instance reported by Right Wing Watch, the Greene County Republican Committee of Virginia is calling for armed revolt if Republicans don’t win in November. They issued an official party newsletter which states among other things:

“…we shall not have any [coarse] (their illiteracy not mine) but armed revolution should we fail with the power of the vote in November…”

This is far from a new battle cry for these morons, in 2010 Catherine Crabill, nominee for the 99th Congressional District of Virginia said this:

“We have the chance to fight this battle at the ballot box before we have to resort to the bullet box… That’s the beauty of our 2nd Amend rights.”

In February of this year, Oklahoma Republican John Sullivan told a townhall audience:

One of the featured speakers at the MO. Conservatives in Action rally in April. Wow -red sports car and two guns - what a man.

You know but other than me going over there with a gun and holding it to their head and maybe killing a couple of them, I don’t think they’re going to listen unless they get beat.

There seems to be no response from the Republican higher ups; I guess the Tea Party is still a useful tool for them, spewing violent rhetoric, the call to arms – all the things the Greater Order of Psychopaths love, but can’t afford to be caught doing themselves.

Where are Romney, Boehner, Cantor et al in denouncing and calling for a stop to this nonsense; my guess is holed up with Grizzly- Nutjob- Mama Palin somewhere putting cross-hairs on a map.

The Republican Party is officially out of its collective mind.

I think crazy right-wingers get their jollies from making threats, against the President, against the left, and against women. Obviously, the guy in the picture is overcompensating for some shortcoming (a Viper and two assault rifles? I’d say its about 3 inches).

In all seriousness, I believe these tough guys would be making 3 “fatal” mistakes if they dared to follow through with these nutty statements:

    1. These nuts are talking about “treason”. They are “traitors”. That’s what you call someone who attempts to overthrow our government (see dictionary.com: treason: the offense of acting to overthrow one’s government). They seem to have some misguided notion that their actions are patriotic, when in fact they are unpatriotic. They seem to believe that their actions would go unchallenged. Any American citizen who prevents them from succeeding in their treasonous acts would be, in point of fact, patriotic.

    2. Law enforcement officers would take them down because they would be committing a crime. Law enforcement officers also carry assault weapons and they have the resources of the local, state and federal government at their disposal.

    3. Right-wingers are not the only armed citizens in this country. Left-wingers own guns as well. Some are those who hunt for sport. Some like to go to the range as a hobby. Many purchased guns for their own protection when the Tea Party gained strength and started threatening the President and talked of overthrowing the government and “second amendment remedies”. I would bet there are many in the African American community who own guns and feel threatened by racist statements made by knuckleheads like Newt Gingrich and Ted Nugent or the racist statements and threats made against our first African American President.

I think if our President is re-elected in a close victory, the radical right will become so enraged that someone will do something stupid. Sadly, I believe the odds are good that we may witness another shooting rampage. But I also believe that the crazier they get, the more likely they will push independents to the left and Obama’s re-election may be a larger victory than we’re anticipating.
