Reince Touts Results Of N.C. Anti Gay Law, Then Disagrees With It’s Provisions

Reince Priebus ( oddly enough, people who like that name also like Saxby Chambliss) was a guest on Meet The Press today.  David Gregory started the interview by asking about President Obama’s  evolution on the issue of gay marriage.

In the course of his dissembling response, Reince (name meaning not found on namemeanings.com) noted that 32 states have had this issue put on the ballot,  “[a]nd every single case, including North Carolina, the answer was yes”… to the bigoted point of view.

Yet when Gregory asked Mr. Preibus (ancientfaces.com helpfully notes that “we have no fun facts about the Priebus surname”) if “gays and lesbians in America deserve equal rights?” he answered  “I think they deserve equal rights in regard to, say, discrimination in the workplace, issues such as, as Mitt Romney has pointed out numerous times, hospital visitations. ”

The issue of hospital visitations for gays and lesbians is addressed by allowing them to enter into civil unions.  The North Carolina measure, which Reince (slate notes that when he passes to his fiery eternal reward he will be the only Reince in the SSA’s death index)  touted only seconds prior to affirming Romneys and his own belief that gay and lesbians be allowed hospital visitations, took away civil unions.

Either Reince (oddly enough spelled Reinice in the whitepages)  thinks the passage of the measure in North Carolina is good, and thus he is against civil unions, or he thinks it is bad for taking away civil unions, but for some mysterious reason he likes to trumpet the result.

Or… he is just the chairman of the Republican party and somehow expecting him to be consistent from one minute to the next is expecting entirely too much from whom-so-ever may hold that position.
