“Reporter” Neil Munroe of the conservative Daily Caller interrupted the presidents announcement on immigration policy on Friday. This is part of the exchange between Munroe and Obama:
Q (Inaudible.)
THE PRESIDENT: – the right thing to do.
Q – foreigners over American workers.
THE PRESIDENT: Excuse me, sir. It’s not time for questions, sir.
Q No, you have to take questions.
Not only was this particular interruption out of bounds, but for this reporter to inform the president that he was obligated to take questions is just the latest example of the outrageous disrespect conservatives routinely display for President Obama. Just who does Munroe think he is ordering the President of the United States of America to take questions on Munroe’s schedule.
Doug posted on the racism prominently displayed by conservatives with much of the imagery they favor. The very public displays of utter disrespect for President Obama by prominent conservative white people, from shouting “you lie” to wagging a finger in his face on an airport tarmac (among countless other incidents) also have racial overtones.
In the latest example, one gets the impression that Munroe thinks he can order the President to simply do his bidding. “No, you have to take questions.” One can just imagine Munroe demanding the President take his coat and show him to a table in another setting. Toss on the fact that the entire exchange is over Obama’s immigration policy and the contempt for having a black man setting policy as President is palpable.
As if the interruption and demand that the President take questions is not clear enough, Munroe makes sure to toss in a blatantly racial component. It is not hard to see the racism dripping from the following quotes by Munroe.
What about American workers who are unemployed while you import foreigners?
and part of the 1st quote in this post, the truncated but still very obvious:

Munroe attempts to personalize the Presidents involvement in American workers losing their jobs by falsely claiming that this policy somehow involved the importation of foreigners. Even worse, Munroe frames the question as if Obama will personally usher foreigners over the border while signing the pink slips for hard working Americans. It is such an outlandish portrayal of the policy that it could be farcical, as is commonly the case with portrayals of Obama policy by the right wing freakazoids.
These very public demonstrations of disrespect by conservatives for the President are so routine now that most people who bother to note them do not bother to speculate on the racial overtones.
