The terrible shooting in Colorado last week prompted the usual response from religious fanatics; blaming this shooting, like they have past shootings, on anything and everything they disagree with. The net has been cast ridiculously wide this time; as Fred Jackson, the American Family Association’s news director put it:
“I have to think that all of this, whether it’s the Hollywood movies, whether it’s what we see on the internets [sic], whether it’s liberal bias in the media, whether it’s our politicians changing public policy, I think all of those somehow have fit together—and I have to say also churches who are leaving the authority of Scripture and losing their fear of God—all of those things have seem to have come together to give us these kinds of incidents.
I think the sources of this is [sic] multifaceted but you can put it all I think under the heading of rebellion to God, a rejection of the God of the Bible. I think along with an education system that has produced our lawyers, our politicians, more teachers, more professors, all of that sort of thing, is our churches, mainline churches.
…the AFA Journal has been dealing with denominations that no longer believe in the God of the Bible, they no longer believe that Jesus is the only way of salvation, they teach that God is OK with homosexuality, this is just increasing more and more. It is mankind shaking its fist at the authority of God.
That’s an expansive list of responsible parties; let’s recap: movies, internet, media (liberal of course), politicians, lawyers, teachers, churches (other than his own), education, gays…oops, he forgot books, video games, toys, feminists, single mothers, and black Presidents.
It’s about time the pseudo-Christian, fanatical religious right have the spotlight turned on them. These aren’t “men of God”; these are vile human beings who use every means at their disposal to enlarge the fissures in society, and perpetuate an atmosphere of hatred and bigotry.
Bryan Fischer, of the American Family Association, blamed the shooting on “removal of the 10 Commandments and prayer from schools”; Jerry Newcombe, of Truth in Action Ministries, claims it happened because millions of Americans “have no fear of God”; and Flip Benham, of Operation Save America, claimed,
“This is what has happened to our country when we remove God from the equation. We have stolen the fear of God from our children, Violence always fills the void. This is the spawn of the ideology of the Democratic Party and now we look at each other in awkward amazement, wondering “what in the world just happened?” The answer is we have stolen God from the hearts of our children.”
Most people’s Christianity is not so easily “stolen” as these parasites would have you believe; and last I knew, God is not the vindictive, vengeful, and hate-filled entity they portray him as. These guys (and there are women too, don’t get me wrong) are morally bankrupt, fake Christians, who maintain their audience by preying on fear and ignorance.
Speaking of fake Christians, here’s a tweet from those depraved lunatics over at the Westboro Baptist Church:

It’s about time authentic religious leaders, Conservatives, and politicians got some backbone and denounced these extremists as the demented, destructive voice they are.
