Register to Vote at All Things Democrat

Four more months until the most important election of your lifetime. Are you registered to vote?

Re-electing Barack Obama will affect our lives in two very important ways:

1. If Republicans hold a majority in the House and gain a slim majority in the Senate, we will need President Obama to VETO all of the crazy bills that will be passed. Just think about the current Republican wars on women and organized labor, but give them a Republican president to rubber-stamp everything that comes out of the Congress. The Republican Tea Party would rule the land, and they’ll pass any law that helps them hold onto power.
2. The next president will likely replace several justices on the Supreme Court. If Romney is president, they’ll all be conservatives. Think of the current 5-4, conservative-leaning court, but make it more like 7-3 or 8-2 favoring conservatives. The Citizens United decision will be the least of our worries.

Your vote may prevent total Republican control of our federal government and our lives. But you need to register now. Republican governed states are working tirelessly to suppress your vote, including adding new rules to shorten registration dates. Your state’s registration may close any day now.
