Mitt “I’m Above All That” Romney appeared at his favorite campaign-rally-posing-as-a-news-show, Fox “News” Sunday, to whine about the fact that the Akin mess won’t go away just because he wants it to. According to the Las Vegas Sun:
Asked …about what the questioner said were Obama campaign efforts to link Akin’s remarks to Romney and other Republicans, Romney said: “It really is sad, isn’t it, with all the issues that America faces for the Obama campaign to continue to stoop to such a low level.”
I understand you’re not very experienced in dealing with the real voting public, so let me explain some things for you, Mitt; and share this with your female interpreter Anne, okay…
The Obama campaign didn’t have to do a thing to link Akin’s remarks to your campaign or your party; you are surrounded by GOP fools who are far more interested in what women do with their reproductive organs than things like job creation. Maybe you should stop begging to be President long enough to find out what’s actually been going on in your party for the last few years.
I know you’ve been busy, what with a horse in the Olympics, and trying not to look like a horse’s ass on your “foreign policy” trip, but let me explain this as simply as I can:
- Women vote.
- We are the majority of the vote.
- You and your party have made it clear you do not consider women a relevant constituency
- Your VP pick is just as dedicated to dictating women’s lives as the rest of your party, and refers to rape as “just another form of conception”
- YOU chose to not even address the Akin controversy initially; stupid move on your part.
Are you writing any of this down Mitt? You’re right, the election is not simply about abortion rights; the truth is, the few policies you’ve deigned to enlighten voters about are enormously detrimental to women, their partners, their children, their parents, and their livelihoods.
Yes, most conservative women will vote for you, but that won’t get you elected; the rest of the female population are pretty damned sick and tired of being bombarded by your party with asinine legislation every time we turn around. FYI, here’s a little snippet of polling regarding the current subject in question:
So stop blaming Obama for controversies he didn’t create, and you don’t have the stones to address. By the way, Mitt: How’s that whole catering to the rich white guys thing working out for your campaign now?
