The Carolina Fest was a great experience.
Jeff Bridges and his band performed.
But, it began raining, so they turned off the electrical equipment.
However, Beau Bridges stood up from among the crowd (I didn’t even notice him there) they both entertained the crowd –until security forced them to leave the stage for their own safety.
Bridges is here in Charlotte as a spokesman for the NO KID HUNGRY organization. He talked about American Children struggling with hunger. Startling statistics of 1 in 5 children struggle with hunger in AMERICA! I urge you to visit the website and take the pledge. It is a worthy NON partisan cause!
We braved the rain ( I had an umbrella) –many did not, and they moved to other areas. Which was a fantastic thing because my group got to move to the front row, just in time to watch James Taylor preform. It was iffy there for a while, but he got a few songs in before the rain forced him to stop. It was fantastic!
Tomorrow, there will be meetings, rallies, and caucuses; and then, the gavel pounds and the actual convention convenes. I’m told the Texas delegation is on the floor, so look for us. I’ll be waving to you!
