I had hoped that after Queen Ann’s meltdown and verbal thrashing of her husband’s Republican critics, someone in the party would have sent her on an extended shopping trip or something. No such luck – she’s still here.
ABC, which seems to have an affinity for Ann Romney, recently cited the “Top 5 Ways She’s Defended Mitt”. Amy Bingham writes in this little piece of fluff:
“While her comments often don’t directly address the issue of what her husband said, her plea for reason and appeal for compassion usually works to douse the flames.”
Huh? I would have described it more like throwing gasoline on a burning building, but hey, that’s just me. Discussing Mrs. Romney’s recent appearance on Leno, Bloomberg columnist Ramesh Ponnuru hypothesized:
“This seems to be one of her main roles for the Romney campaign: She is ambassador to the mysterious land of American women.”
Yes, women have a secret clubhouse language that we share, used only in our vast underground network of female communication; geez this guy’s a dope.
Ann Romney can no more empathize with, communicate for, or even come close to grasping the issues that are important to non-conservative, non-wealthy, female voters; to many in fact, she’s a living caricature of the 1% Republican female.
I was a stay at home Mom who just kept staying home… isn’t that funny?
I drive a couple of Cadillacs, because no one should have to drive the same old car day after day.
I thought $1,000. for a t-shirt was a real bargain!
If we average our taxes out over 20 years or so, it helps hide the years we paid no taxes at all; not like we have to explain anything to you people, anyway.
My husband “wasn’t expressing… disdain for people who are poor or who are on entitlement programs”, that’s really how we view everyone who’s not us.
Ann Romney’s sympathetic affectations on the campaign trail just ooze phoniness; and frankly, when the election is over in November, she’ll go right back to her uninformed, insulated, little fairy-tale life. Most importantly, she’ll be able to put that whole unpleasant, having-to-act-like-she-cares-thing far behind her. Is it November yet?
