We’ve all heard what Mitt Romney really thinks of Americans, things he only tells his rich donor pals; but what about Paul Ryan’s insults regarding the poor and real middle class. Ryan has accused up to 70% of Americans of being “takers”, and guess what, Republicans: That includes you. Here is a video montage of Ryan’s claims, via Mother Jones:
So who are some of Ryan’s “Takers”; well, if you’re elderly, and living on Social Security – you’re a “Taker”. Disabled Veteran? You’re a Taker. College student? You’re a Taker. Poor? That’s right – you’re a “Taker”; and the list goes on.
Bear in mind, this self-righteous ass, while discussing those who don’t pay enough in taxes for his liking, under-reported his own income on his tax returns for at least two years that we know of. As USA Today reported (my emphasis):
“While being vetted by Mitt Romney’s campaign, GOP vice presidential hopeful Rep. Paul Ryan amended two years of his financial disclosure statements to add an income-producing trust worth between $1 million and $5 million that he had previously neglected to report.”
Ryan’s amended reports were hand delivered to the House Clerk with letters characterizing the belated disclosures as an “inadvertent omission.”
The additional assets in question are a trust the Ryans inherited after the death of Janna Ryan’s mother. How does one possibly forget about an inheritance worth between $1 and 5 million?
Neither Ryan, nor the Romney campaign will release more than two years of Ryan’s tax returns, even though he gave them at least a decade’s worth; because the Romney camp would then be obliged to release more of Mitt’s returns.
Yet, while these guys play fast and loose with their taxes, they have no problem calling those who take their legitimate refunds, credits, and deductions – Mooches, and Takers.
