Mitt Romney: Did He Cheat?

There’s a little controversy brewing on the interwebs about the possibility of Romney having cheated at the debate by bringing notes.

Check out this sneaky move, and keep a close eye on the shape of the object between the time that it leaves Romney’s pocket and as it lands on the lectern.

Some reputable sites are buying the Romney campaign claims that it was a very starched handkerchief, not notes on paper. Seems to me that the object came out of his pocket relatively flat, like a folded piece of paper. But later on when Romney wiped his nose with a handkerchief, it bent over like soft cloth. And seriously, their story is that he took a handkerchief out of his pocket and flipped it on top of the lectern, onto his notepad? Most people I know keep that nasty stuff in their pocket.

As with anything involving Romney and the possibility of cheating (like tax returns we can’t see, or borrowing money against struggling companies’ assets and then stiffing the banks), I’ll remain a skeptic on this one.
