Samantha Power, that is.
Hillary says the Obama campaign is acting like Ken Starr and in the meantime she’s acting like she’s got Karl Rove under the hood with a poke and parry mentality, effectively beginning a “death by a thousand cuts” strategy in the post-March 4th reality in which we find ourselves. Obama’s campaign has now found itself in the wringer of focus, attacks, and questioning. In this new-ish world of frustration, one of Obama’s top advisers and foreign policy guru, Samantha Power, called Hillary a “monster.” She promptly and publicly apologized. This morning, the Hillary campaign demanded her resignation, and resign she does.
My personal thought: Bad move, Samantha. This resignation shows the entire opposition (Democrat and Republican alike) that if they kick up the oven a couple degrees, the Obama campaign goes running because of their thin skin.
My personal suggestion for a non-resignation letter would’ve looked something like this:
Dear Clinton Campaign- Earlier this week I spoke heatedly out of frustration in an inappropriate manner. I’ve already apologized. Blow it out your ass; sanctimonious bullshit does not become you.
They should totally hire me.
