Because They’re Just That Dumb

Do RWNJs get dumber on the phone?  Check out these polling stats from ThinkProgress (with my emphasis): Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), was born in Calgary, Alberta in Canada in 1970, according to the birth certificate he released two years ago. But a Public Policy Polling poll released on Monday found that 40 percent of Republican voters falsely believe Cruz was born in the United States — compared to just 29 percent who believe the same of Hawaiian-born Barack Obama. – Read the full article

Romney Thinks Re-branding (Again) Will Help in 2016

Romney Looks to “Re-brand” Himself for 2016… From Which Version? After an unsuccessful bid for the Senate, one term as Governor of Massachusetts, and two failed campaigns for President, America still has no idea who Mitt Romney is, mainly because Romney doesn’t know himself. – Read the full article

Rudy: About That Romney Benghazi Thing

Sorry Folks, Benghazi. Again. I used to like Rudy Giuliani way, way, waaaay back, when he wasn’t a right wing bootlick. For those of you who missed it, Rudy Giuliani discussed Mitt Romney’s failed campaign on Fox and Friends this morning, and like a dutiful Republican, invoked BENGHAAAAAZI!: “Even if he didn’t win, if he had made Benghazi a bigger issue, I think we would have had a better chance.” Rudy seems to forget that Benghazi did enter Mitt’s campaign, when America watched him leave his press conference about the tragedy with a self-serving smirk on his face, happy as a 1% pig in shit: Don’t be such a putz, Rudy. – Read the full article

Mitt Romney is Ready to Save the GOP if He Must

Two time loser Mitt Romney will evidently make the sacrifice to run again if the GOP needs to be saved from the wrong frontrunner. Does he actually believe the third time could be a charm, considering his contempt for half of America? – Read the full article

Meaningless CNN Poll Inspires Campaign Reform Solution

Republicans Use Crisis To Dismantle Good Government Programs

In 2006 Congress passed the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act. That law requires the Postal Service to prefund 75 years of potential benefit obligations, and spells out in detail the amounts that must be given to the treasury year by year for that mandate: “(3)(A) The United States Postal Service shall pay into such Fund–“(i) $5,400,000,000, not later than September 30, 2007; “(ii) $5,600,000,000, not later than September 30, 2008; “(iii)$5,400,000,000, not later than September 30, 2009; [etc. – Read the full article

If You Trust Conservatives On Benghazi, You Deserve What You Get, II

Nearly every instance of Republicans trumpeting some aspect of the Benghazi attack that supposedly proves their point has proven embarrassingly dishonest, leading to the observation that if you trust conservatives on Benghazi, you deserve what you get. The most recent example of that truism is the current obsession by Fox News, Republicans and conservatives around the nation on the recently released email from Ben Rhodes that touches on the talking points to be used by Susan Rice on the sunday talk shows following the attack.  – Read the full article

Setting The Benghazi Record Straight For Senator Ayotte

Senator Kelly Ayotte was a guest on the Benghazi Channel (AKA Fox News) on Sunday. Why can we accurately call Fox the Benghazi Channel? Because that is where the befuddled righties go to see round the clock Benghazi coverage. Fox folks have compared Benghazi to racist Clippers owner Donald Sterling, the missing Malaysian airline, the Chris Christie scandals, the closure of the WWII Memorial during the Government shutdown, freaking Watergate… I could continue on like this but you get the point.   – Read the full article

Devious Birds, Frogs And Republican Campaigns

The past week (04/20 – 04/26) has been one of the worst for Republicans since the government shutdown last fall. From the short term perspective, the biggest news was the spectacular implosion of conservative cause celebre Cliven Bundy. While that reversal of conservative fortune was certainly epic in real time, chances are that in early November most Americans will barely remember the events in Nevada over the past several weeks. – Read the full article

Over/Under: Years Before Republicans Start to Claim Credit For Obamacare

The Heritage Plan: 1989. All citizens should be guaranteed universal access to affordable health care. Many states now require passengers in automobiles to wear seatbelts for their own protection. Many others require anybody driving a car to have liability insurance. But neither the federal government nor any state requires all households to protect themselves from the potentially catastrophic costs of a serious accident or illness. – Read the full article

If You Are Fooled By Conservatives Once, Shame On Them.

The entire title to this post is: If You Are Fooled By Conservatives Once, Shame On Them. If You Are Fooled By Conservatives Twice, Fool Me… Won’t Get Fooled Again. During his speech to CPAC, Paul Ryan gave a “moving” example of the difference between the Republican party’s desire for hard work and the left’s supposed desire to maintain dependence on big government. – Read the full article

If You Believe Conservatives On Benghazi You Deserve What You Get.

Chalk up CBS’ 60 Minutes as the latest victims of having a conservative lie on Benghazi blow up in their faces. How many times have right wing Benghazi talking points proven to be wildly inaccurate, oft times to the complete discomfiture of the person or outlet that is trumpeting the talking point? – Read the full article
