It’s tax time folks, the most festive season next to Christmas for Conservatives; a time for them to revel in smearing those less fortunate, while ignoring the obscene tax breaks given to Corporate America, and failed presidential candidates.
This year, before Conservatives call out the dogs to perpetuate their “47% of Americans don’t pay taxes” rallying cry, and get the lemmings hatin’ on Grandma, our disabled veterans, and the poor, let’s put some facts out there. – Read the full article
Just how much do continuing the Bush tax cuts add to the debt? This graph couldn’t make it more clear.
And yes, one can argue that letting the tax cuts on the middle-class expire would hurt the economy. But if you’re one of the right-wingers who are suddenly concerned about the debt we’re leaving to future generations (didn’t seem to matter to you under Bush), then you have to realize that your precious tax cuts make up the greatest percentage of the national debt. – Read the full article
Well, not really… not yet anyway, but give them time. The conservative blogosphere has decided that any lay-off, for any reason, in any industry, that occurs from now on, is the result of President Obama’s re-election. Conservative sites are full of headlines like:

One website, “The Economic Collapse”, salivates over anything negative in the economy to pin on the President; at the same time, the ignorant fools who read this stuff (those Conservatives who never fact check for themselves), eat it up and regurgitate it. – Read the full article

While the major Republican players are talking the talk about diversity, and how to appeal to the voting blocs that have abandoned them, their extremist counterparts in state legislatures continue their lunatic approach to governing.
In Michigan, a hearing was held yesterday on House Bills 5684 and 5685, which, as unfathomable as it may be to a sane person, seeks to create a tax exemption for a fetus:
House Bill 5684 would amend Section 30e of the Income Tax Act to allow taxpayers to claim a dependency exemption for a fetus that has completed at least 12 weeks of gestation as of the last day of the tax year and that has been under the care and observation of a physician since at least 12 weeks of gestation. – Read the full article
Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are the zombies of old discredited brands of conservatism, animated by a new strain of radical absolutism. In our past, American heroes have exposed their ilk as fraudulent imperialists. I predict that on Tuesday 60 million Americans will fulfill their role in this age-old morality play of American history by reaffirming Jefferson’s dream and Lincoln’s victory that America is a nation of the people by the people for the people. – Read the full article

For years we’ve listened to Conservatives harp on the fact that 47% of Americans “pay no taxes”, a talking point brought to the forefront two weeks ago when Romney used it to disparage voters at a $50,000./ plate fundraiser. – Read the full article
Paul Ryan spoke with Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday, where he claimed the Romney/Ryan campaign is not changing strategy, they’re simply “entering a new phase”. Most voters can’t even tell you what the previous “phase” was about because the GOP ticket just doesn’t think Americans need silly little thing like details. – Read the full article
